PHAs are bio-based and biodegradable natural materials, similar to cellulose, proteins, and starch. PHAs are produced by microorganisms through bacterial fermentation. During fermentation, bacteria convert different types of feedstock, such as plant oils, sugars, and agricultural waste, into biopolymers. PHA polymers have been identified as a promising alternative to conventional plastics as they can degrade naturally in the environment, reducing the accumulation of non-biodegradable waste.
GO!PHA is a global and action-oriented coalition of stakeholders on a mission to accelerate the development, commercialization, and adoption of natural, biodegradable, and sustainable PHA polymers globally.
GO!PHA came to us because of our expertise in the field, built through supporting Californian climate tech scale-up Full Cycle. This biotechnology company addresses three major global issues—plastic pollution, food waste, and climate change—by transforming organic waste into PHA. We revamped the Full Cycle brand and upgraded its website aiming to strike a balance between scientific language and simplicity, as well as between promoting Full Cycle’s impact and circularity while maximizing conversion through storytelling.
Given our experience in the space, we understood the most common challenges in the industry that GO!PHA is helping to transform. We successfully supported GO!PHA in the creation of a brochure aimed at informing their various target groups on PHA polymers, their functioning, and their viable role in tackling global warming and plastic pollution and driving a more circular plastic ecosystem.
Without the need for a brand direction workshop, we stepped up to the challenge of creating an informative yet clear digital brochure for GO!PHA. Our design experts crafted a visual style that perfectly captures the GO!PHA brand essence, complete with fresh colors and unique branding elements. We overhauled the existing graphs in the brochure, enhancing both their style and content for maximum clarity. To top it off, we created bespoke illustrations that beautifully complement the graphs and elevate the overall design.
By crafting a copy that speaks directly to the needs of their target audience, we made the brochure an enlightening read for anyone interested in learning more about two of the biggest threats our planet is currently facing—global warming and plastic pollution—and explained exactly how PHA can solve these issues in a way that’s accessible and easy to understand. Taking into account the different stakeholders who could benefit from this information, we also created a two-pager tailored to each target group, whether they were manufacturers, change agents, policymakers, or brands, so that GO!PHA could deliver a specific message to each of them.
The final result was a digital brochure that’s both informative and visually captivating, a powerful tool that GO!PHA can use this to drive its mission forward and create real change in the world.
