Key challenges we tackle
Why is it a strategic opportunity?
A carbon footprint is the most fundamental piece of climate data a business can have. Without it, every sustainability conversation whether with investors, customers, regulators, or your own leadership team will be built on assumption rather than evidence. This is why Quest provides carbon footprint assessment and analysis services across Scopes 1, 2 & 3.
-
Meet the requirements already landing on your desk
CSRD, CDP, procurement questionnaires, B Corp certification, EcoVadis assessments, and an expanding list of customer due diligence requests all require credible emissions data. A rigorous, methodology-aligned carbon footprint gives you a single source of truth that works across all of them rather than producing a different number every time someone asks. -
Find out where your emissions actually are
For most organisations, the answer is surprising. The vast majority of emissions sit in Scope 3 (in supply chains, purchased goods, and product use) not in direct operations. Knowing where your footprint is concentrated tells you where reduction efforts will have the most impact and where the most significant risks lie. -
Build the foundation for target-setting and strategy
A carbon footprint is not an end in itself: it is the starting point for everything that follows. Science-based targets, decarbonisation roadmaps, net zero strategies, and climate disclosures all require a credible baseline to build from. Getting the measurement right from the outset means everything built on top of it is grounded in evidence.
How we can help
We measure your carbon footprint using the GHG Protocol — the globally recognised standard for greenhouse gas accounting — producing a baseline that is methodology-aligned, internally consistent, and built to be updated year on year. Our approach covers all three scopes and is designed to be as practical as possible for your team to contribute to and maintain.
-
Scope 1 & 2 measurement
We calculate your direct emissions from owned or controlled sources such as fuel combustion, company vehicles, and on-site processes to your indirect emissions from purchased energy. We apply market-based and location-based approaches where relevant and ensure your energy data is structured for accurate, consistent reporting. -
Scope 3 assessment
We map and measure your value chain emissions across the relevant Scope 3 categories for your business from purchased goods and services and business travel, to upstream supply chain emissions, product use, and end-of-life treatment. For most organisations, this is where the most significant emissions and the most significant opportunities sit. -
Data collection & methodology guidance
We work with your team to identify the right data sources, build practical collection processes, and apply appropriate emissions factors, ensuring your footprint is as accurate as your data allows and that the assumptions and limitations are clearly documented. -
Footprint reporting & communication
We help you present your carbon footprint clearly and honestly whether for internal leadership reporting, CSRD or CDP disclosure, customer-facing communication, or certification requirements in a format that is transparent about methodology and defensible to external scrutiny.

Key outcomes
A carbon footprint you can build on
A full Scope 1, 2, and 3 baseline that is methodology-aligned, consistently structured, and documented in a way that holds up to the questions investors, customers, and regulators will ask.
Clarity on where your emissions actually sit
A breakdown of your footprint by scope and category that tells you where the most significant emissions are concentrated, giving you the information you need to prioritise action rather than spreading effort thin.
The foundation for everything that follows
A credible baseline that connects directly into target-setting, net zero strategy, and climate disclosure, so your investment in measurement compounds into lasting strategic value rather than a one-off reporting exercise.
